The New S 1000 R
Awaken the Daredevil

Saturday 8 May is the date to meet the powerful new BMW S 1000 R at Bahnstormer.

Our first look at the new R reveals that this bike is adorned with some really special design details. Straight black handlebars, anodised rear seat lock cover, underslung swingarm and compact, muscular looks make you double take – it’s so well conceived.

Power comes courtesy of a 165bhp in-line 4 (non-ShiftCam) whilst weight is kept below 200kg fueled and ready to go with further weight savings to be had from the M Package with forged (-2kg) or carbon (-3.7kg) rims.

As expected, the new bike has the excellent 6.5″ TFT display with BMW Connected functions of navigation, music and telephone along with best-in-class display of all your riding data and setup.

Riding grip and comfort is improved with the RR derived Flex Frame technology, Adaptive Headlights are now available, 6-axis WSBK derived DSC is standard, more linear torque and modified gear ratios 4-6 make this not only a truly stunning performance machine, it is arguably better suited to the road than its sister superbike.

We have registered our new demonstrators and will be putting the running-in miles on over this week in readiness for letting you try them out for yourselves from Saturday.
