BMW unveils stunning new S 1000 RR

BMW Motorrad have announced the launch of six new motorcycles, spearheaded by the all new and visually striking S 1000 RR superbike. Sharing the limelight is the R 1250 GS Adventure, R 1250 RS, R 1250 R,  F 850 GS Adventure and C 400 GT scooter.

At the heart of the new RR  is the BMW Motorrad ShiftCam system producing a headline grabbing 207bhp combined with 11kg weight loss over the previous class leading incarnation. Also shown was a brilliant and flexible version of the now familiar TFT colour display plus an upside down swingarm brace and striking LED lights. Significantly, the letter ‘M’ comes to motorbikes having being exclusively associated with BMW cars with M accessories and a M model with carbon rims.

They also announced on the back of this that BMW Motorrad will be returning to World Superbikes on the RR with a certain Tom Sykes at the helm.

The F 850 GS Adventure is rugged and capable of travel with its 23 litre fuel tank.

We were expecting the boxer 1250 ShiftCam engine to appear on the rest of the R-Series bikes but maybe not the changes to the looks that have been shown. The R 1250 RS in particular gets a new look front fairing and headlamp array. The Adventure is everything we hoped it would be!

More from EICMA shortly!
