Level One is the ideal way for a novice to discover the joys of off-road riding on an adventure bike.

The friendly and experienced instructors will put you at ease and ensure you’re having so much fun that you’ll barely realise you’re learning.

Day two is mainly trail riding putting the skills you have learned into practice.

After a full day in the saddle and a quick group photo it’s back to the BMW Off Road Skills HQ for the presentation of your well-deserved certificates.

    Momentum exercises.

  • Level 2 Foundation - £595

The Off Road Skills team has developed a new training course to sit alongside the existing Level 2 programme – Level Two: Foundation.

It’s specifically designed for riders who have completed Level One and wish to progress towards the skills taught on Level Two,

The course kicks off with a relaxed trail ride around the stunning 4,000-acre site of Walters Arena, shaking out the cobwebs and getting your head dialled back in to riding the GS bikes off-road.

Using your Level One knowledge and experience, you will work through the Level Two Foundation lessons with emphasis on the key skills of clutch and throttle control, body position and vision.

You’ll find new lessons and exercises that aren’t in any other course syllabus, tailored by the ORS instructors to help bridge the gap to the more advanced techniques of Level Two. You will also be introduced to advanced downhill braking and shallow ruts in preparation for undertaking these elements in Level Two on more challenging terrain.

By the end of the course, you’ll have the tools to deal with anything you find on the open trail safely and in control. It’s the perfect way to bridge the gap to Level Two.

From changing direction to riding off-camber trails and adjusting your riding position, the instructors will help you develop your existing core skills and learn new techniques.

The courses are heavily based around lessons, followed by trail rides to put those lessons into practice. With plenty of time in the saddle the course emphasis is on developing and bringing together your newly acquired techniques.

Level Two is designed to develop your enthusiasm into the confidence to use all the skills you have learned. By the end of day two you will know if you are ready for our advanced Level Three GS course.

You need to have been riding regularly on challenging terrain and putting the skills you have learned on Levels One and Two into practice.

After a warm-up trail ride, the day kicks off with a trials and skills course to assess your riding ability. This allows our expert instructors to focus the rest of the course on honing your skills on the endless trails around Walters Arena.
